Disruption Pulse Orb
A generic term for a type of weapon that disables mechanical/computer systems rather than destroying them.
While such weapons come in a plethora of delivery methods, the cannon variety fires a self-contained orb of energy that then spreads out upon contact with the target, absorbing through most types of hull plating/armor.
